A burning permit is required for burning on your property. For everyone’s safety, burning is not allowed between April 15 and Oct. 15.

Types of Burning Permits
Apply for a Burning Permit
Burning permits are sold for the burning season between Oct. 16 and April 14.
Apply for your permit at Station 201, 250 Nanaimo Avenue West, Monday to Friday during business hours.

- Burning is not allowed between April 15 and Oct. 15.
- Call for venting index before burning at 250-490-4125 and to give your permit number.
- Permit prices are in accordance with the Fees & Charges Bylaw 2014-07.
The Fire Chief may refuse to issue or may cancel a Burning Permit that is likely to be hazardous or create a nuisance. Watch for wind speed and smoke having a negative impact on nearby residences.
