Fire Safety Plans and Construction/Demolition Fire Safety Plans

The following guidelines are intended for all occupancies identified by the B.C. Fire Code and B.C. Building Code to implement Fire Safety Plans or Construction/Demolition Fire Safety Plans.

Fire Safety Plans

Section 2.8 of the B.C. Fire Code identifies what occupancies are required to have Fire Safety Plans. The following guide outlines the minimum requirements to be included in the Fire Safety Plan.

Construction/Demolition Fire Safety Plans

Section 5.6 of the B.C. Fire Code requires that any building or parts of buildings undergoing construction, renovations or demolition requires a Construction/Demolition Fire Safety Plan prepared for the site prior to any work commencing. Part 8 of the B.C. Building Code provides requirement for safety measure at construction and demolition sites. The following guide outlines the minimum requirements to be included in the Construction/Demolition Fire Safety Plan.
