Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised that both lanes on Nanaimo Ave, from Main St. through to Robinson St, will be closed Tuesday, October, 30 from 6:30am to 8pm. The closure is required while underground sanitary connections are carried out.
Please be advised that this closure replaces a shutdown of the same section of road that was originally scheduled for October 25, but was later cancelled by the contractor performing the work.
“The City of Penticton thanks everyone in advance for their patience while this section of Nanaimo Ave is temporarily closed for one day”, said Electric Utility Manager, Shawn Filice. “Anyone passing near this section of Nanaimo Ave are asked to be mindful of equipment entering and leaving the work site as well as any traffic congestion resulting from the closure”.
Barricades and directional signage to detour motorists and pedestrians will be in place. Residents using local bus services are advised to check with BC Transit for information concerning route disruptions.
