Long-Term Rentals

A long‑term rental is a property rented for 90 days or more at a time.

A business licence is required for long‑term rentals involving commercial buildings or multi‑family housing complexes, including apartment buildings, triplexes, and fourplexes.  A strata corporation also requires a business licence.

A business licence is not required for the long‑term rental of a secondary suite, carriage house, single‑family home, or an individually owned strata unit.

If you plan to rent a property for less than 90 days at a time—such as a short-term vacation rental—please visit our Short‑Term Rentals page.
