In partnership with GoByBike Week, the City of Penticton is offering a bike storage space in its new secure locker located on Ellis Street as a donated prize for the week long fitness activity.
“This bike locker comes at an opportune time for both the proposed Lake-to-Lake Cycling Route and the GoByBike Week,” said Director of Development Services, Blake Laven. “Cycling is a healthy, enjoyable and efficient way of travelling our city. We are happy to offer a storage space for residents who want to explore this alternative means of transportation.”
Each year, GoByBike, B.C.’s Bike to Work & School Week, encourages the community to choose their bicycles as transportation rather than a motor vehicle. This program aims to encourage participation by all commuter cyclists and recognizes their accomplishments to committing to the week long event.
Those interested in leasing a storage locker for their bike can contact City Hall at 250-490-2400. One storage locker can be rented out for $10 per month for the first year, with three spots available.
