In Penticton, seasonal water restrictions run every year from May 1 to August 31.
Stage 2 water restrictions begin May 1 due to early drought conditions across the South Okanagan. Low winter snowpack, below‑average rainfall and reduced lake and reservoir levels mean water supplies are already under pressure. Residents are encouraged to conserve water now to help reduce overall use by 20 per cent and ensure enough supply through the summer (more details in the link below). Visit our Water Conservation page for tips.
Water Restriction Stages
Water conservation measures are an important step to ensure we can keep up with our community's demand for clean drinking water as well as requirements for irrigation and commercial use.
