Property Tax Notices arriving soon, due July 29 at 4 pm

The City of Penticton Property Tax Notices will soon be arriving in mailboxes.  Property Taxes are due July 29, 2022 at 4:00 pm.  Payments must be received by our office no later than 4:00 pm July 29, 2022 in order to avoid a 10 per cent penalty. Postmarks are not accepted as proof of payment date.

If you are eligible, claim your Home Owner Grant before July 29, 2022.  You must apply directly with the Province of B.C. each year:

  • Online at gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or 
  • Call 1-888-355-2700, Mon - Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. You must apply with the province no later than July 29, 2022 in order to avoid a penalty of 10 per cent.

Property Tax Deferment – Some residents may be eligible to defer their property taxes.  For more information or assistance with your application, please contact the Tax Deferment office directly at TaxDeferment@gov.bc.ca or call 1 (888) 355-2700. You must apply with the province no later than July 29, 2022 in order to avoid a penalty of 10 per cent.

Don’t want to stand in line to pay your Property Taxes?  There are several ways you can make a payment without having to stop by the City Hall cashier station:

  • Online or telephone banking through your financial institution;
  • Online with credit card through the City of Penticton website (third party service fee of 1.75%);
  • By cheque through the mail; or
  • By using the 24-hour drop box at the front entrance to City Hall.
