Learn about how to get your business or strata building electric vehicle ready

Service Announcement

The City of Penticton is offering a series of upcoming workshops to provide helpful tips for businesses, multi-family properties and strata developments interested in installing electric vehicle chargers. The City is also looking for feedback involving the barriers faced by commercial and multi-family properties looking to install electric vehicle chargers.

The City has partnered with the Community Energy Association to conduct the workshops, which will outline the steps to install chargers and other infrastructure, as well as the rebates and financial incentives available. Also, stratas that have electric vehicle chargers can find out about their new obligations to report and receive credits for the electricity sold. Industry experts will be in attendance to answer questions.

Online meetings:

  • Multi-unit residential / strata focus: Wednesday, July 20 from 2-4 p.m.
  • Commercial / business focus: Tuesday, July 26 from 8-10 a.m.

In-person meeting:

  • Wednesday, July 27 from 9-11 a.m. (Register for details)

Three key reasons to attend these workshops:

  • All new car sales in BC will be electric as of 2035.
  • Currently there is 75 per cent funding available to install EV chargers in stratas and multi-unit residential buildings.
  • There is a new requirement from the Province for stratas that have EV chargers to report their usage, with a lucrative accompanying financial benefit of carbon credits available for all electricity sold.

Pre-registration is required. Please email info@communityenergy.bc.ca or call 250-469-6783 ext. 719 to book your spot. For further information, visit penticton.ca/ev-stations.
