Statement
“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and colleagues of the Oak Bay municipal worker who was struck and killed yesterday.
“Everyone who leaves for work in the morning should return home safely at night and this tragedy is a reminder of the dangers that workers face. It reinforces the need for all of us to join together and create safe workplaces for all in our community.
“As a mark of respect, flags at municipal buildings will be lowered to half-mast.”
