Watch for traffic light disruptions at Skaha Lake Road at Green Avenue

Service Announcement

Watch for disruptions involving the traffic lights at the intersection of Skaha Lake Road and Green Avenue W this afternoon while the City’s electrical crews conducts repairs.

The lights will be flashing intermittently until 3 p.m. while crews conduct repairs, placing this intersection into a four-way stop.

Given its proximity to Princess Margaret Secondary, the lights will not be put on flash during the school’s lunch break or during the after-school pickup time to ensure everyone's safety.

Skaha Lake Road is reduced to a single lane southbound while crews are on site. The northbound lane is open as usual.

Anyone driving through this area is reminded to slow down and take extra caution, watching for pedestrians and workers.

The City is also reminding residents that the traffic lights at Eckhardt Avenue and Main Street will be out all day today while crews repair a downed traffic pole due to a motor vehicle accident.

If possible, drivers should consider using alternate routes until about 5 p.m. tonight. Anyone passing through this area is asked to slow down, watch for signage, and be cautious of workers in the area.

The intersection is currently operating as a three-way stop with single-lane alternating traffic. Drivers should anticipate delays. Flaggers will be on-site ahead of the busy school pickup time.
