Today, Mayor Julius Bloomfield, BC Minister Ravi Khalon and Chief Gabriel of the Penticton Indian Band (PIB) came together in a powerful demonstration of unified leadership and shared commitment. In the days and weeks ahead, new and significant funding will be directed to Penticton to address the Fairview encampment, an important step forward in enhancing community safety and well-being.
This support reflects the strength of our partnerships and marks a critical milestone in our shared work to ensure all residents have access to safety, stability and services.
Our sincere thanks to Minister Khalon and his team for their strong partnership with both City Council and PIB Council. This outcome is the result of many months of hard work, trust-building and coordinated action and we are pleased to see it beginning to take shape.
