Countdown begins for action-packed Frost Fest Winter Carnival weekend

The countdown is on for the return of Frost Fest Winter Carnival, the South Okanagan’s largest outdoor winter festival, taking place in Penticton from Jan. 23-25, 2026.

Frost Fest promises an action-packed schedule with new features and events, as well as returning favourites that will make this the biggest Frost Fest yet. The event’s new website, at frostfest.ca, provides a schedule details and featured highlights, including the following:

  • Hot Air Balloon Glow Up
  • Peach City Rail Jam competition
  • New: Food Lane on Main, featuring multiple food trucks
  • Family Zone by HaHaHa Kidzfest
  • Hockey tournament on the outdoor rink
  • Frost Fest Gala – tickets on sale now
  • Frosty Toes Winter Dip & Firefighters Charitable Society breakfast
  • Matinee Movie Melt
  • Arctic Afterparty

“Now in its third year, Frost Fest has become a highlight of winter, with attractions including the Peach City Rail Jam and hot air balloons attracting spectators from near and far,” says Mayor Julius Bloomfield. “Frost Fest proves that Penticton shines in every season, not just summer, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for the biggest festival yet.”

All the outdoor events will take place in downtown Penticton in and around Gyro Park from, including the Family Zone by HaHaHa Kidzfest. The rail jam event will attract highly skilled skiers and snowboarders to show off their skills on the 17-foot-high, snow-covered structure.

Frost Fest will also have a DJ, food vendors and a beverage garden, wrapping up on the Sunday with a KISU Polar Bear Swim and pancake breakfast with the Penticton Fire Department.

Most of the weekend events are free to the public, with no tickets required, with the exception of the Frost Fest Gala fundraising and the Matinee Movie Melt.

The City’s events team is also working with local partners and sponsors including, Apex Mountain Resort, Freeride Boardshop, Big Steel Box, Wildstone Construction, Apex Freestyle Club, Home Hardware, Trademark Industries, Superior Septic Services Inc., KDL Scaffold and Pacific Rim Equipment.
