Penticton Animal Care and Control is temporarily closed following a confirmed case of canine parvovirus (Parvo) at the facility. Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that primarily affects unvaccinated dogs and can cause severe illness. The temporary closure is a precautionary measure to help prevent the spread of the disease and protect the health and safety of animals in our care.
While the facility is closed to the public, Animal Care and Control services remain operational. Staff continue to respond to calls, provide information, and assist residents with animal-related concerns and service requests by calling 250-492-3801 or by emailing: dogs@penticton.ca.
Updates on re-opening will be shared as they become available. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding.
