The City of Penticton's Emergency Operations Centre continues to support wildfire response efforts and provide services for evacuees affected by the Bald Range wildfire.
As phased re-entry continues in the District of Summerland and the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), residents are encouraged to access recovery information, resources and support services through official Summerland and RDOS channels. Recovery services are now available in Summerland, while Emergency Support Services for those who remain under Evacuation Order will continue at the reception centre at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
Emergency Support Services for those who remain under Evacuation Order will continue at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre (325 Power St.) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Access is now through Door 2.
A recovery centre has been established at the George Ryga Arts & Cultural Centre (9525 Wharton St.) in Summerland. Beginning Aug. 18, the centre will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Support services, cleaning kits (limited quantity), re-entry guides and other resources will be available to help residents navigate the re-entry and recovery process.
