Pacific Coastal Airlines ramps up flight schedule – and can ship your packages, too

Tag(s): Living Here, Love Local

Pacific Coastal Airlines has announced plans to increase its flight schedule between Penticton and Vancouver to five days a week.

While the Provincial government’s current health orders dissuade non-essential travel, the airline provides travel for essential service workers and passengers travelling for medical appointments. As of May 2, 2021, direct flights will be available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday each week. Schedule details can be found on their website.

Pacific Coastal also offers cargo service to 17 destinations throughout its network, providing a fast way to transport your time-sensitive packages.

Ship Your Cargo

Pacific Coastal can ship small envelopes and packages, important documents, time-sensitive goods, or even animals. Choose from the following shipping priorities.

  • Guaranteed cargo: confirmed space on the next available flight.
  • Priority cargo: boarded on the next available flight ahead of standby cargo; includes essential medical supplies.
  • Standby cargo: economical for items that can be shipped if there is space available after customer baggage and other cargo has been accommodated.

For businesses in Penticton and throughout the South Okanagan, this helps keep supply chains open during these challenging times, ultimately providing support as the economy recovers.

“Pacific Coastal Airlines is pleased to provide fast, reliable and affordable cargo solutions to the community of Penticton,” said Johnathan Richardson, Vice President of Commercial Services. “Whether you need to send envelope-sized important documents, large cargo items or time sensitive material, we offer various cargo products to meet your needs."

Need to get an item beyond the locations served by Pacific Coastal? The airline can extend its cargo reach via partnerships with other carriers, and is able to deliver across Canada and the United States through this network.

Enhanced Safety Measures

Additional safety measures are in place throughout YYF and on board. This includes enhanced aircraft sanitation practices, physical distancing at airport facilities, reduced contact points, and the requirement for all customers to travel with a face mask and answer health check questions before boarding.

Other Airline Options

While Pacific Coastal Airlines offers direct flights to and from Vancouver, connections are also available between Penticton's YYF Airport and Calgary through WestJet. In addition, numerous charter flights options operate out of the airport. Penticton Airport is also a home base for BC Wildfire Service, a flying club, flight school and helicopter school.
