News Release

“This is a chance to come and see exactly what is involved in being a member of City Council,” says Angie Collison, the Chief Election Officer for the City of Penticton. “The workshop gives prospective candidates background on the nomination process, details what being a council member entails and a gives them a chance to ask any questions before deciding whether to submit their name for nomination."

The pre-candidate workshop will be held August 17 in the City of Penticton Council Chambers at 5 p.m. to offer interested candidates an opportunity to experience what it might be like to sit at the Council table. Participants will learn more about the role of an elected official and will have an opportunity to ask staff any questions that they may have.
