Foot and bike traffic remains open on South Main, watch for flaggers

Service Announcement

The City would like to inform residents that foot and bike traffic remains open on South Main Street during construction of the Point Intersection group of projects.

Please watch and obey instructions from flaggers, and anyone on bicycles is asked to dismount and walk their bikes for the safety of themselves as well as other pedestrians passing through.

Construction continues to proceed on schedule, with crews currently focused on a section of South Main Street, Pineview Road and Galt Avenue. Workers are currently working on underground infrastructure, installing water mains and conducting sanitary and storm upgrades in the area. Also, above-ground electrical wiring is being moved underground.

This project in the coming months will also involve building curbs, gutters, sidewalks and cycling infrastructure, constructing the Point Intersection roundabout, and paving, with work also planned to continue into 2024.

South Main Street between Kinney Avenue and Green Avenue is closed during daytime construction hours, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with access only available to local residents. Also, Pineview Road between Dartmouth Drive and South Main Street is closed to traffic, with access only available to local residents

Crews would like to thank residents for their patience.
