The City of Penticton is preparing to relocate Bylaw Services to City Hall on Friday, Feb. 27, bringing the team back into the main municipal building as part of the City’s ongoing work to consolidate services, improve access for residents and provide a one-stop-shop for customer related enquiries.
The move — first announced last summer — supports the City’s goal of creating a more convenient, one stop location for a range of municipal services.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the Bylaw Services team back to City Hall,” said Kelsey Johnson, general manager of Community Services. “Bringing more services together helps streamline how residents interact with the City and supports a better customer experience overall.”
To ensure residents can easily access bylaw support, several service enhancements are being introduced at City Hall, including:
• A Bylaw Reception and Intake Desk on the second floor, offering a dedicated area for walk in service.
• A first floor meeting room to support customers working with Development Services.
• Additional visitor parking and improved accessible parking in the City Hall lot to accommodate increased foot traffic.
• No service interruptions, with frontline bylaw work continuing throughout the transition.
“Our officers will continue to be out in neighbourhoods and downtown every day,” said Deanne Burleigh, manager of Bylaw Services. “Residents will see the same level of service—they’ll just come to City Hall on weekdays if they need in person support.”
Bylaw Services will continue operating seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Walk in service will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and residents can reach the intake team by phone on Saturdays and Sundays.
