With warmer temperatures arriving, the City of Penticton’s street sweeping program is gearing up for its annual spring clean. Crews will begin work on Monday, March 2, starting in the Wiltse neighbourhood.
Temporary A-frame signs will be posted in your area in advance to notify residents of the upcoming work.
Residents can assist by sweeping sidewalks adjacent to their property toward the gutter before crews arrive, and by watching for temporary no parking signs or traffic cones that ensure sweepers have clear access.
As sweeping equipment moves slowly along roads and around corners, drivers are reminded to remain patient and cautious when passing crews.
In addition to neighbourhood sweeping, crews will remove sand from designated sidewalks, clean traffic islands and bridges, and sweep rural roadways.
After this initial spring maintenance, street sweeping will continue through the summer and fall. Once spring sweeping is complete, the City will begin its annual traffic line painting and road marking program, typically starting in mid-April.
