Penticton’s latest public sculptures installed for the summer

News Release

Residents and visitors are invited to explore a refreshed outdoor selection of public sculptures as the City of Penticton announces the installation of new public art sculptures throughout the downtown core and along the waterfront.

From striking contemporary works to pieces inspired by the region’s history, the sculptures add creativity and character to Penticton’s streets and public spaces. Passersby can discover unique works that enhance the cityscape, while creating connection, curiosity and an opportunity for reflection.

“Public art plays a vital role in shaping the cultural identity of our community,” said Mayor Julius Bloomfield. “These sculptures create vibrant points of interest for our residents and give visitors a new reason to explore and engage with Penticton.”

The 2026 installations are part of the Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibition, a year-long outdoor program that has brought original works by artists to the community since its launch in 2016. Each year, the City leases sculptures from artists across British Columbia, transforming everyday spaces into an open-air gallery.

The exhibition features a diverse mix of artistic styles, materials, and themes—from bronze to wood and fibreglass. Sculptures can be found along the Okanagan Lake waterfront, throughout downtown, and at key locations such as the Front Street roundabout.

Whether exploring downtown, strolling along the lake, or simply passing through, everyone is encouraged to take a moment to experience the artwork that keeps our downtown vibrant.
