The City of Penticton and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213 are pleased to announce the ratification of a memorandum of agreement establishing the terms of a renewed collective agreement covering Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2027.
The ratified memorandum reflects the collaborative efforts of both bargaining committees and represents a balanced outcome for employees and the organization. The parties will now work together to incorporate the agreed-upon changes into the collective agreement before the final document is signed.
The four-year agreement includes wage increases, enhancements to employee benefits, including paramedical and dental coverage, and several administrative updates designed to modernize and strengthen the collective agreement.
The general wage increases are:
• Jan. 1, 2024: 6%
• Jan. 1, 2025: 6%
• Jan. 1, 2026: 4%
• Jan. 1, 2027: 4%
The agreement was reached through a respectful and constructive bargaining process focused on supporting employees, maintaining high-quality municipal services and fostering a strong working relationship between the City and IBEW Local 213.
