Everyone is invited to celebrate the sockeye salmon returning after their challenging 6000-kilometre journey to the ocean and back.

The Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance (OSCA) and the Okanagan Nation Alliance are hosting two “Celebrate Our Salmon” open houses. Historically, the open houses have been held in Oliver and Penticton. NEW for 2026, the events will be held in Penticton and Peachland.

Sunday, October 18th 10am - 12pm at Peachland Creek in the Hardy Falls Regional Park. At the south end of Peachland.

Join Chereen, Outreach Coordinator for the Okanagan River restoration initiative at Peachland Creek, for a walk to see the salmon habitat restoration project. New rock riffles were installed in Peachland Creek to restore degraded spawning habitat, improve creek health, and support salmon spawning. This work enhances overall ecosystem function and reflects ongoing Indigenous caretaking of the land and waters.
