The Royal Canadian Legion has been in Penticton for 100 years. Despite many changes, its core mission of supporting the needs of Veterans, and the community at large, has remained unaltered. Join Allen McNeil and Robert Nield as they describe the developments that gave rise to the founding of The Legion, and some of Branch 40’s activities and achievements since then.

Allen McNeil served as a Radioman with the Royal Canadian Navy for seven years. He has been a member of The Legion since 1988 and has held many executive positions at several branches. He is now a Lifetime Member of The Legion. Robert Nield, familiar to some as a speaker on matters relating to the Penticton Cenotaph, turns his attention this time to a closely related subject - The Royal Canadian Legion.

The Brown Bag Lecture Series is held every Tuesday at lunchtime (noon to 1 pm) from September to April. Each week a guest lecturer speaks about a subject in their area of expertise. Topics include local history, travel, culture, and natural history.
Admission is by suggested donation of $2 per adult and $1 for children.
