Friendly Streets are shared spaces where people walk, play and move around safely. Here in Penticton, we’re taking steps to create more Friendly Streets. This starts by making traffic safety improvements to create safer roads. It also involves working with residents, schools and other community groups to work together on building healthy spaces for everyone to move, play and grow.
Community Collaboration Projects
Watch for brighter, more vibrant streets with added safety improvements coming to a neighbourhood near you. The Friendly Streets campaign kicked off in 2024 with two street-painting projects, which brought people together to breathe new life and add more safety elements onto their streets.
Traffic safety improvements from Kinney Ave to Green Ave W
The traffic safety improvements are intended to address neighbourhood concerns related to speeding and shortcutting on residential streets from Kinney Avenue to Green Avenue West and from Cornwall Drive/Paris Street to Skaha Lake Road.
