Love where you work: Resources to help you get settled in Penticton

Tag(s): Living Here, Working Here

Penticton is a place where big ideas grow into big business. Our vibrant city has strong entrepreneurial spirit, with more than 3,600 businesses serving 100,000 people throughout the region.

While we’re known for world-class wineries and deep roots in agriculture, our sectors are diverse and imaginative. Our resilient business economy includes a solid foundation of mature, multi-generational businesses as well as start-ups and newly relocated companies.

New to Penticton

Are you new to Penticton? The Penticton: Your Guide to Living Like a Local provides information and resources to help you settle in to your new community – and enjoy all the city has to offer. New to Canada? Start by connecting with the local settlement organization, South Okanagan Immigrant and Community Services (SOICS). Their services are free for newcomers and they can help you with everything from getting your documents in order to accessing free English language classes, finding housing or school for your children, and more.

Start Your Own Business

If you’re thinking of starting your own business, or seeking to relocate an existing company, start by reading Penticton's Guide to Business. It provides information to help you get started, including everything from business licences to zoning. You can also read it online at penticton.ca/business-guide.

Hard copies of this magazine can be picked up at City Hall, from the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association, and South Okanagan Immigrant & Community Services (SOICS), to list a few places.
